Jonathan's Favorite Oatmeal-Raisin Cookies

1 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. soda
1/4 t. salt
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1/4 t. vanilla
1/4 t. cinnamon
3/4 c. quick oatmeal
1/2 c. raisins

Separately:
1/4 t. cinnamon
3 T. sugar

Sift together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, soda and salt. Add brown sugar, egg, vanilla and shortening. Beat well. Stir in rolled oats and raisins. Form dough into small balls, and roll them in the cinnamon-and-sugar mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 10 to 12 minutes. Yield: 3-1/2 dozen if you make those balls SMALL... and if you don't eat the dough.
